How To: Claim your Google plus profile vanity url
Hi Friends. Today i am going to tell you how you can easily claim your google plus profile vanity url. Like Facebook, Google plus currently does not support vanity urls. If you don’t know what the hell i am talking about then check out the pic below.
In Facebook, we had an option to choose our own custom usernames. If you still haven’t claimed your Facebook username then register it now. Google+ currently shows a long numeric string of digits as our Google profile url which looks very ugly and our friends can’t even track us with that lengthy url.
So there’s a app which does just that for you. Actually just not “a” app, many apps. Yes, since the release of Google+ many apps have been setup and are competing over which of them can manage to register the most number of urls. Ok, lets get started.
So here’s the list of services for you to choose from, just pick any url changing service. And RELAX all the apps does just the same thing.
The working is simple. Simply visit your preferred site from the list above, enter your Google+ ID i.e. the numeric string of numbers and then type in you favourite name that you wish to assign as your google plus profile vanity url. And then click Add. Finally you get a nice looking url that you can share it with you friends. When your friends click that link, they will get immediately get redirected to your google profile page. There, now you have your own sweet looking google plus profile vanity url!

Finally, the long urls were frustrating…going to register my vanity url now….
I have to think that creating a vanity URL using these services will only help your G+ profile to rank better in the SE’s. You get a link back to your G+ profile that includes a nickname that potentially has SEO value.
