Samsung had released its slickiest set of PC monitors at the CES 2011 convention, the SA950 and SA 750. From then, everybody is going crazy to own this new contraption. Samsung 750 is a 2D monitor and the 950 is a 3D monitor. Both the models are LED monitors and are available in sizes of 23 inches and 27 inches.
A very interesting news about these monitors is that they come with company’s own 3D glasses rather than Nvidia’s and you wouldn’t even require an IR Hub for the 3D to work, just your sweet monitor and a set of 3D glasses. This is the fact that startled me very much. I think Samsung is introducing their own 3D technology these days to divert more sales towards itself. With the invention of its proprietary 3D technology, and these monitors being the first to recruit this technology, SAMSUNG has become the biggest and the most famous TV giant in the world! Furthermore, it seems that the SA950 can convert any 2D content to 3D. How the conversion is made possible and how the content is rendered, only time will tell us! Perhaps this conversion is only possible on SAMSUNG displays.
Apart from the extraordinary 3D Technology these monitors stand out with its exceptional design. The 950 has a classy footlook and an anti-glare matte finish giving it glossy looks and an aesthetic experience. Both the models have a slim metallic frame with a tilt function giving them upto 170/160 extreme viewing angles. The panels use Twisted Nematic (TN) Crystals to produce graphics on the screen giving out refresh rates of 120 Hz and 240 Hz.
As for the specs both monitors have resolutions of 1920×1080, 2ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio. Many connectivity ports are made available such as HDMI, Displayport, D-sub connection for SA750 and Dual-Link DVI for SA950, W-LED backlighting is made available as well.
These monitors are gonna perform good in the market as they can play 3D content from Blu-ray players, Set-top boxes and Gaming consoles as well. According to SAMSUNG’s Press Release, these monitors will offer a hyper-realistic 3D playback and an immersive 3D experience never seen before.
The latest news from PCmonitors.org suggests that the monitors will be releasing this May in the US and the starting prices will be from $599.
Please COMMENT as how you feel about the new line of PC monitors from SAMSUNG! Are you gonna buy ‘em or trash ‘em?
